Website Strategy & Build

Website strategy, design, and build from Eric Rounds Agency: information architecture, responsive design, SEO, content, hosting, and WordPress management.

A website is not a magic switch. It works when strategy, design, content, and upkeep are handled together, from the first decision through the ongoing care after launch. That is what we build.

We have been building websites since the mid-90s, back when we hand-coded HTML and optimized images down to 256 colors because bandwidth dictated everything. Sites have grown enormously in capability and expectation since, and a site on its own no longer brings in traffic or solves your online presence. Social channels, events, and content all carry weight now. We handle the whole picture.

Content-managed websites

The tools to build a site are more accessible than ever: WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Weebly. They are capable, but they also present a wall of decisions, which platform, which structure, which trade-offs. That is where we come in. Start a conversation.

Strategy and SEO

We start with information architecture to define the site, move into a considered, functional design, then develop and test across every platform. Your site works on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops, and on every major modern browser your audience actually uses. A Website Audit & Assessment is often the right first step.

Content development

We help craft your website content for brand and message, keep technical content current, and write for search. From promotional video to presentation decks, your content carries the site. Here is how to organize and prepare your content before it goes in.

Hosting and maintenance

Every website needs upkeep, some of it daily, some monthly, for both content and the technical core (the CMS and its plugins). Without a backup strategy and a way to roll back a bad update, a single glitch can mean costly downtime. Blog comments, image optimization, form testing, backups: none of these are strictly “updates” or “security,” but they affect both. Upload full-size images without scaling and your media library bloats, backups slow, pages crawl, and the site can even fall over. We keep it prepared.

Security

In 2018, Google began requiring SSL certificates for any site with a form, so effectively everyone needed one, and that was a good thing: more secure sites, less spam, fewer compromised forms. Securing a site (also called “hardening”) is a multi-step process, brute-force protection, hidden sensitive data, and staying current on software, since out-of-date software is one of the most common ways sites get breached.

Social media

Facebook groups, LinkedIn posting and connections, Instagram feeds, and more. Social can matter as much as the site itself; it is a direct connection with your audience, nurtured through rewards, feedback, surveys, and recognition. See Social Media Marketing Management.

Frequently asked

Questions B2B owners ask.

What does a website engagement include?

Strategy first, then build. We settle what the site has to accomplish, structure it around how buyers and search engines read it, and build it to be fast, findable, and easy to run.

Do we own the site, and can we edit it?

Yes. You own the site and the content. We build it to be maintainable and hand over what you need to run it without depending on us.

Will it be built for AI search and SEO?

Yes. Clean structure, structured data, and clear answers are built in, so the site is legible to search engines and to the AI systems buyers now ask first.

How long does a build take?

It depends on scope, which we settle in the first conversation. Most builds ship in weeks to a couple of months, with an honest timeline before we start.
