The short version
This site sets no cookies. It runs no advertising pixels, no session replay, and no third-party trackers. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have.
Three things collect information, and only three: the engagement request form, the site chat assistant, and a cookieless analytics beacon that counts visits. Each is described below in plain terms.
If you would rather not be counted at all, use the Privacy choices link in the footer, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser and we will honor it automatically without your having to ask.

Who we are

Notice at collection
1. The engagement request form
When you submit the form, we collect the fields you fill in: your name, your email address, and optionally your company and your answer to “What prompted this?”
That submission is delivered to us as an email. It is not written to a database on this site. It lives in our inbox the way any other business correspondence does.
To keep the form from being harvested by bots, your IP address is passed to Cloudflare Turnstile, which returns a pass or fail. We never see or store the address ourselves, and Turnstile is a privacy-preserving check: it does not track you across sites.
Why we collect it: to answer you. Nothing else. We do not add form submissions to a marketing list, and we do not pass them to anyone.
2. The site chat assistant
The “Ask” widget answers questions using only published content from this site.
- The question you type and the answer you receive are kept in a rolling log of the most recent 500 exchanges, so we can see what people actually want to know and write better pages. No IP address and no identifier is attached to that log. We cannot tell who asked what.
- Your IP address is used for two operational purposes only: limiting requests to ten per minute, and holding a temporary block if the widget is abused. That block expires automatically after 24 hours. Neither use is stored alongside your question.
- To generate an answer, your question and the relevant site excerpts are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API. Anthropic processes it to return the answer and does not train its models on it.
Please do not type confidential information, health information, or account credentials into a chat box on any website, including this one.
3. Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless by design: it sets no cookies, writes nothing to your browser’s storage, does not fingerprint your device, and cannot follow you to another website. It tells us how many people read a page, roughly where in the world they were, and how fast the page loaded.
It is on by default and you can switch it off at any time from Privacy choices in the footer. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, it is off before you arrive and cannot be switched back on here.
4. Ordinary server logs
This site is served by Cloudflare, which processes request data, including IP addresses, to route traffic, block attacks, and keep the site up. This is standard infrastructure logging and is retained for a short period for security purposes.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information, and we have not in the preceding twelve months.
- We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There are no advertising pixels on this site.
- We do not run session replay, heat mapping, or any tool that records what you type or where you move your cursor.
- We do not use your information to build a profile of you, and we do not enrich it with data purchased from brokers.
- We do not send email you did not ask for.
Who processes information on our behalf
We keep the list short on purpose. Each of these is a service provider under a contract that forbids using your information for its own purposes.

Cookies and storage
This site sets no cookies. Not one.
It writes a single entry to your browser’s local storage, named era-privacy, which
records your own privacy preference so we do not ask you again on every page. It contains
your choice and nothing else. Clearing your browser storage erases it, and the notice will
appear again on your next visit.

How long we keep things
- Form submissions: kept as business correspondence for as long as the inquiry or the client relationship is live, then deleted on request.
- Chat questions: the log holds the most recent 500 exchanges. Older entries drop off automatically as new ones arrive.
- Rate-limit and abuse records: 24 hours, then automatic expiry.
- Analytics: aggregate counts only, with nothing tied to an individual.
Your choices and your rights
You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. You can ask us to stop contacting you. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 45 days.
California residents. The CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, gives California consumers the rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising any of them. A business our size falls below the statute’s revenue and volume thresholds, so those obligations may not legally attach to us. We honor the requests anyway. It is a poor argument to tell someone their privacy depends on our headcount.
We recognize Global Privacy Control as a valid opt-out signal and apply it automatically.
We do not collect sensitive personal information as the statute defines it, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Other states. If you live in a state with a comprehensive privacy law of its own, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, or Montana, the same request address works and we will treat your request the same way.
Links away from this site
Pages here link to client work, published articles, and third-party tools. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else’s site under someone else’s policy. We have no control over what they collect.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or what we do with it, we will update the effective date at the top and, for a material change, say so on the site rather than hoping you re-read the page.
