This site sets no cookies
That is the whole disclosure. There is no advertising cookie, no analytics cookie, no social embed quietly setting one on a third party’s behalf. Nothing on this site asks your browser to carry an identifier from one visit to the next.
Most sites that publish a page like this are explaining a list of forty trackers. We would rather publish the short version and let it stand as the point.
What is written to your browser
One entry, in local storage, named era-privacy.
It holds your answer to the privacy notice: whether you acknowledged it, and whether you want traffic measurement on or off. It contains no identifier, nothing about who you are, and nothing that leaves your browser. Its only job is to stop us from asking you the same question on every page.
Clear your browser storage and it is gone. The notice will simply ask again next time.
The one thing that measures anything
Cloudflare Web Analytics, and only on the terms below.
- It is cookieless. It sets nothing and stores nothing in your browser.
- It does not fingerprint your device. There is no canvas hashing, no font enumeration, none of the techniques that reconstruct an identifier without a cookie.
- It cannot follow you anywhere else. The measurement exists inside this domain and has no mechanism for recognizing you on another site.
- It reports aggregates: page views, referring sites, country, browser, and how fast pages loaded. It does not produce a record of an individual visitor.
We use it for one reason: to know which pages are worth keeping and which ones nobody reads.
Turning it off
Two ways, both permanent until you change them:
- Privacy choices, in the footer of every page. Open it and choose to opt out. The beacon stops loading on your next page view.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends the GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out before you arrive. It cannot be overridden from our side, and we will not ask you to reconsider.

Why there is a notice at all, if there are no cookies
Fair question. No state law requires a banner, and a cookieless beacon would not trigger one if it did.
The notice is there because we would rather tell you what runs on the page than have you find out by reading the source. It also carries the opt-out, which is the part that actually matters, and it makes the privacy policy reachable from anywhere on the site without hunting.
It appears once. It is dismissible with a keyboard, it does not trap focus, and it does not block the page while you decide.
The site chat
The “Ask” widget is our own software running on our own infrastructure, not a third-party chat product. It stores the questions people ask, with no IP address and no identifier attached, so we can write better pages. It sets no cookie.
